Follow the Moving Line
Find the scene’s active variable, see what it affects, and follow what it may become.
The scene, the Focus, and both sides are now in place. What remains is the part already moving. This lesson helps you name that active variable, see who and what it affects, and follow the direction it may take.
The Moving Line names the active variable.
Its role tells you what is changing. Its element tells you how that change affects the scene.
Do not read the Moving Line by itself. Compare it with Self, Response, and the Focus. Then follow the same row to see what role and element it becomes in the Changed Hexagram.
